Turn text in a photo into something you can understand
Use the camera or an existing image to recognize text, view a translation, and copy the result.
Signs, menus, labels, and screenshots often contain the information you need. Image translation combines text recognition with translation so you can work from the image instead of retyping it.
Start with a photo or image
Capture a new image or select one from your library. Recognition quality depends on legibility, contrast, language, and the layout of the source image.
Review the translated text
The app detects text regions and presents translated content over the image. You can inspect the original and copy recognized text for use elsewhere.
Useful beyond travel
The same workflow can help with packaging, notices, printed instructions, and other image-based text. For tables or multi-page documents, use the document translation workflow instead.
